BeautiControl National Spa Training Day Coming Soon!

   Okay, so it's Christmas Day and my husband and I have been in the house nibbling all day and watching movies as our Christmas celebrations happened over the course of the last few weeks. (They were, by the way, wonderful, as I hope yours were.) And because I don't handle sitting around very well I decided to look ahead to my next few weeks and do some planning. It was then that I realized that there are only TWO WEEKS, yes, that's TWO WEEKS until BeautiControl consultants around the country get to attend meeting sites all over the USA to learn about our new BeautiControl Spa Facial, BC's scientific approach to skin care.
   I am so excited for everyone to experience this new product line. So much simpler; and in the 20 years I've been a sales rep for this company every time we make a skincare change it's definitely for the better and it's what keeps me having healthy skin for life!
   Consultants who purchase for themselves and family and friends will want to attend these trainings, as will consultants who are out doing spas and personal consultations. And for many consultants, life has changed over the past 6-12 months and perhaps you're in need of extra income at this point of your life, or maybe an empty nester or maybe you just need a little fun. BeautiControl Director Summit

  Wow, what an amazing time in Dallas Dec 6-9.  Over 500 Directors and EVIPs arrived at the Omni Hotel to learn about BeautiControl's new skin treatments that will be introduced in January.  BC Spa Facial: where science meets spa.   Exciting to learn about and very thrilled that we're once again returning to a sensor system where we can identify and personalize what women need to use on their skin.   Not to mention the fact that we will be simplifying our products taking the basic products from 24 to 9.  In this culture of "quick fix" and "no time" women don't want to be taking 8-9 steps for their skincare every morning.   But they want to look younger faster so this is going to be exciting.
  I also got to celebrate with Julie Spaid.  Julie has emerged quickly on our team as a spa leader, having only joined in August and is on target to be a Director with BC on January 1.   I love watching her work with her girls; she's not afraid to tell them what they need to do; she's great at holding them accountable; and she knows that this company changes lives one life at a time.   She knows you can make money doing spas, and she knows there is a way to leave the corporate world if you really put your mind to it.  I can't wait to see what's ahead for her!

It's a BOO-TIFUL season to spa

The weather is turning cold here in Iowa.  Darn, it's been so beautiful.  The leaves dramatically changed over the weekend but today many are blown away from the 60 mph winds.  I always love this time of year.  As the nights get cooler the draw of SPA lures women to some time away just for me.

 Last weekend a few of us joined Platinum National Barbara Ward, Nationals Nancy Savely and Margaret Ward, as well as our regional VP Charla Gervers for a leadership retreat in Branson.  What a wonderful time.  Barbara chose different women to do makeovers on, talked about how to dress wearing the right colors and for your body types.  And in perfect BC style, a few of the guests were treated with a Chocolate Indulgence Spa.  Of course, they took the opportunity of Halloween being around the corner and asked us all to come to the spa in costume, so thanks to Julie Spaid's suggestion, we decided to be the cheetah girls.  I have to admit, I'm not really much of a Halloween girl, but we thoroughly enjoyed our costumes and had a wonderful time, as you can see. 

  It got me thinking that one of the best things we can do with our spa business is to just HAVE FUN.  Creativity doesn't have to come just from ourselves.  Network with the consultants around you and ask them what they're doing.  Julie even went to Walmart yesterday and purchased a blue pumpkin and is taking it to her spa tonight filled with treats for those who book.  Great idea!

You can spa anywhere

   Okay, so Friday night was the first time I've ever done a spa in quite a unique setting.   A couple of us ventured over to a sorority house at Drake University in Des Moines to spa the girls for their rush week.   Jen was told they were doing some major construction, turning it from a fraternity house into a sorority house.   Most of these girls had spent the entire week painting, varnishing floors, picking up trash, finding furniture......you name it.  
  When we walked in to assess where to set up we decided to not let any obstacles get in the way.   There was absolutely no furniture, paint everywhere, but needless to say - the girls needed a little down time.  So we unpacked our bags and set up in the kitchen doing facials, foot creme, our BeautiControl instant manicure treatment and then headed into the living room to straddle the paint buckets and brushes for a little relaxation time.  Just say spaaaaaaa.  The pictures don't do it justice.  It was great and fun to treat them.

The Gift of Friendship through Spa

I love all the friendships I make through the gift of spa with BeautiControl.  Over the course of the past 20 years I've met hundreds of wonderful men and women.  Some have are clients, some are consultants on my team, some are consultants and directors around the country, and some are staff with BeautiControl. 
  I met Gary Jones 29 years ago when our company was small and you knew just about every director in the country.  What fun to be able to watch how he's grown and expanded his responsibilities with BC to bring us the best of skincare, makeup and spa products PLUS now a whole branding image that is absolutely unbelievable.

  I also love meeting other directors and learning from their expertise.  On my recent trip to Alaska with 48 other top directors in the company we shared endless ideas that I know will help my own BeautiControl team.  Thankfully this trip was made possible through our company who is owned by parent company Tupperware.  Simply by sharing the gift of spa and our fabulous products and career opportunity and by leading a team of women to do the same.  What a great time, and two months later I'm still laughing and smiling at the memories.   

Women Need to Pamper Themselves

I'm not amazed at how many women weekly say “TGIF”! Sometimes there are just those weeks where there is never enough time to get everything done that needs to get done, and our weekends are booked with catching up on the things that we didn’t have time to get done during the week.  So WHAT IF, instead of running crazy your entire week or weekend you spent just ONE HOUR of “me time”.


Ok, so here is what this involves:

•First, you let everyone in the house hear loud and clear that you are going to take 1 hour to yourself. You have heard the old saying, “If mamma ain’t happy, then no one’s happy”? Well, no truer words were ever spoken. You inform all the children…yes, including the husband who can be the biggest child of all when it comes to being a little needy, that unless there is blood, they are to leave you alone. No phone calls, no “mommy I’m hungry”, no “honey where are my socks”, nada! This is your tiny slice of heaven and you are absolutely not to be disturbed.  Better yet, let dad take them all to the playground or out for ice cream.

•Next, you light candles and put the all around your tub. Now, I don’t know what it is about candles, but they make “me time” just a bit more exotic, wouldn’t you agree. Round up all the candles you can find. They don’t have to match, this is about you. Light them and put them all around the bathroom.  OR plug in your favorite Scentsy candle, and if you don't know what Scentsy is I have a friend who can hook you up with one of these awesome plug-ins!!

•Next, you need music. It doesn’t matter what kind of music, just make sure that it is something that helps you relax. Turn it up loud enough to drown out the kids and the noise if your family is still at home.

•Now, using your BeautiControl Skinlogics products, remove all your makeup and put on your favorite mask. We have so many to choose from, so pick the one that best fits what you are looking.  You can detox or you can hydrate and if you want to use one of ours I'll help.

•Now, fill the tub with water and pour in your favorite bath additive: Detoxifying Bath Soak or Therapeutic Bath Minerals from BC are my favorites!!

•Next, get your favorite scrub:  mine is the Luxuries of the Sea Salt Glow.  LOVE IT!!! or try the BC Spa Manicure Scrub.  We use it mostly on hands but it works great no the body too!

•Now, turn off the lights, get in the tub, relax and completely turn off your brain. No job, no kids, no stock market, nothing! Let yourself think of absolutely nothing!

I promise you, when you emerge from your momentary hibernation, you will be so renewed, refreshed and revitalized that you family will not recognize you.

Family Spa Time

Life's a Beach Spa Time

  I had the opportunity to get together with several of my cousins over the weekend.  Many cousins whom I hadn't seen for a very long time, and the reality is, it seems like the only times we see each other any more is at funerals.  So I asked one of them (Micah) if she'd like to have a family spa to celebrate her mom's birthday and she said yes!  We have so many great theme spas like the Margarita Spa or the Wine & Cheese Spa; I forget sometimes about spas for special occasions:  birthdays, baby & bridal showers, girls night out with friends who haven't been here for awhile, mother/daughter spa.  You truly can make a spa out of anything. 

  My cousins were especially loving the special spa socks.  Well, not really that special, but special because they say "SPA" on them and just having a pair or two of these help remind us that we need to take time to spa ourselves.  Trust me, these girls didn't have any problem relaxing, laughing and having a good time as evidenced by the pictures.  BeautiControl - thank you for giving me a business I love, products that work, and a reason to get together with friends & family that is a celebration. Life is too short not to enjoy one another; BC spas help celebrate life!

Great ideas for spa nights

   The ideas for spas are ENDLESS.   Sometimes I think we just get in a rut; and the truth is, there are so many different types of home parties out there.  Often as consultants we think "oh do thy really want to come to another party".  Truth is - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!!!    As evidenced by this video, when you put  little creativity to work and just play, who wouldn't want to come to a spa!
  This idea is priceless.    I know little girl parties are all over the place, and I used to stray away from these.  But if you can find a mom who wants to pay to put together a little gift bag the sky is the limit.  
  Enjoy watching the video, and let your imagination run wild in what you could do with this.  BeautiControl is getting to be known out there in the marketplace - FINALLY, after all these years.

Team Rallies Rock

  My husband has come to know that Monday nights around the Wiemann home is "team time."  He knows the routine.  He gets home from work, helps me move around a few chairs, cleans up the kitchen and picks up after me (because I'm the clutter bug of the kitchen).  He's a trooper.  This Monday night I put him to work helping me put together kabobs for our annual July BBQ and salad potluck.  I have to say, they were awesome!!!  Fresh veggies and pineapple with chicken all marinaded in a teriyaki sauce.  YUM!
  And just as good as the food was, the company and friendships are even better.  How can you not smile and be so happy for women like:
- Nicki V who just became a VIP and this extra income means a lot to her young family of 7!
- Debbie L who sold over $1100 last month and needs that additional cash flow as a homeowner.
- Jennifer W who just joined our team and already has a huge WHY - to earn a mustang for her husband to drive!
- Wendy S who is single and doing BC full-time after she lost her job and has 7 appointments on her calendar already for July!
- Alisa H who sold over $1400 last month and as a single mom of 3 BC is helping provide day-to-day necessities she NEEDS, not just wants.
- Dolores A who drives all the way from Davenport to attend our Des Moines meetings and is 72 and still works full-time doing childcare but loves selling BeautiControl for fun because she loves the products.
- New Consultant Helen W who sold 3 Instant Facelift Sets and is excited about her new little business.
  All of these women are doing BeautiControl for different reasons.  Each one of them has faced rejection and fears and is pushing beyond those things to reach women and pamper them with our in-home spa and our great BeautiControl products.  And I get to be a little piece of each one of their lives.  I love it.
  A few of us head to Dallas later this month for our annual convention.  Always a time of getting to know one another and this business better.  Always a real treat and so inspirational.

Masks, Makeovers & Margaritas

I LOVE MONDAY NIGHTS!  Okay, so when we were originally asked to start implementing a regular weekly event to connect with our teams I have to admit, I was angry.  I thought to myself "how in the world can I fit one more thing into my calendar!!"   But we were asked by new VP of Sales, Jose Luis to give it six months and see if it doesn't just knock your socks off.   So here we are, nearly 8 months later and I recently told Jose "you are right!! These events are awesome."

  So what did we do last night?   Exactly as the title says.  Mud masks at the sink, a quick summer makeover using bronzer, wet/dry or tinted moisturizer, mascara and lips.   LOVED IT - and here are a few photos.  Thanks Erin & Deanna for bringing guests.  I had a couple of my own and consultants Debbie Longseth, Wendy Sargent, Erin Rempe all helped with stations.   New consultants Jeannine Kuiper and Julie Cupp joined us for some training.  Even Jeannine's 8 year-old daughter Lindy loved the spa girl time. 

  I asked Debbie Longseth, (who has been with us for 5+ years what she thought of her first guest night event.   She was blown away, and maybe I can get her to follow this blog so she can comment.  Anyway - she loved the connection with team members and with guests.  And it's a great way to reach many girls all at once.  We all play and have fun and then team members get the business.  And we just get to be girls like that Cindi Lauper song "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun".
   One of my favorite parts of the evening is when that last person or two is going home and we get to really connect at a heart level.   It never fails that someone in need lingers a bit longer....and if you listen with your heart you can tell someone needs an ear.  And the Holy Spirit leads a conversation and you get to be and do exactly what we're wired to do - be in relationship.  I love that about spa nights.  Focus off me; focus on them.  What a great evening!
